At Ketron Elementary, our mission is to empower every child to reach their fullest potential by fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. We are dedicated to inspiring curiosity, building character, and nurturing lifelong learners who are prepared to succeed academically and contribute positively to their community.

Ketron High School is an outgrowth of an interest and need which demonstrated itself as early as the year 1877 when the founding of Kingsley Seminary by the late Joseph Ketron, for whom our present school is named.

Kingsley Seminary was a church related school, supervised and aided financially and morally by Holston Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.  Its grades ranged from primary to college level.  In 1883, a teacher training department was added to the curricula.  By the early nineteen hundreds the school began to decline and the College level as well as the teacher training department was replaced by the work of grade school level. 

As the population grew, by the nineteen thirties, four schools -- Kingsley, Arcadia, Cedar Grove and Orebank- were established and doing the grade school preparation for Sullivan and Blountville High Schools.  Later Lynn View High was built and served to further the high school education.

By the time the half century came, it was felt that our needs could best be served by a high school within the community, and in the fall of the year 1954, we opened the doors of a brand new building to the boys and girls of this community. The Sullivan County Board of Education called this new school Ketron Memorial High School in memory of Joseph Ketron, the founder of Kingsley Seminary.
